We are so excited to finally announce The Makery
to our family and friends, and get the ball rollin’.If you request an invitation now
, you could be invited to be part of our beta phase where we will be featuring our very first artists and running our first deals! We will be eager to hear what our first users think about The Makery experience and how we can better serve our artists and local community.
A little more about what The Makery is:
Combining the ideas of online sales, buying local, and the renewed passion for handmade goods, we created The Makery as a new way to build community-supported commerce and support our friends, neighbors, and new favorite artists.
Here’s how it will work: Each week, members will receive curated deals on a selection of limited edition art, apparel, and homewares, all lovingly handmade by one of that week’s featured local artists.
When you purchase an item from The Makery, you will pay less than you would at a craft fair or on an artist’s Etsy site, and will also be exposed to new artists and pieces that have been carefully chosen as Makery Picks.
To the artists, The Makery brings a large member base of potential customers, and also provides additional exposure through features on our blog and special, one-of-a-kind opportunities for VIP members.
Be sure and STAY TUNED to our blog, facebook, and twitter. We have some really fun posts coming up, and we will keep you up to date with our progress as we get ready to launch.
Thanks for checking us out!
Krista Anne, Brita, and Sarah Rose

This is our first blog post for our new project, The Makery!
Allow us to introduce ourselves:
We are three sisters, artists, and North Carolina natives who have been continually inspired by the creativity and talent that we see all around us – in our friends, our neighborhoods, and our communities.
Through The Makery, we hope to cultivate an online community of people who appreciate beautiful, well-made things, and want to support the amazing local artists and craftspeople here in North Carolina.
Our next step to making this happen is to procure some funding, so right now we’re working hard to put together materials to post on Kickstarter.com. We hope to have our video and other materials up on Kickstarter by February 1, so time is ticking! If all goes well, we’ll have enough support to launch our official website and online shop in the next few weeks!
We’ll keep you updated along the way as things progress, and will start featuring some of our favorite local artists here in the coming days. Visit us often!
Krista, Brita, and Sarah Rose
